In Poland Polish Register of Shipping (www.prs.pl; hereinafter: PRS) is the competent authority responsible for administration of CO2 monitoring, reporting and verification scheme from international maritime transport. PRS, meeting the requirements of Regulation (EU) of European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2015 on the monitoring, reporting and verification of carbon dioxide emissions from maritime transport, and amending Directive 2009/16/EC and Commission delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/2072 of 22 September 2016 on the verification activities and accreditation of verifiers pursuant to Regulation (EU) of European Parliament and of the Council on the monitoring, reporting and verification of carbon dioxide emissions from maritime transport acts as verifier carrying out tasks consisting on:

  • checking monitoring plans;
  • verification of CO2 Annual Emission Reports;
  • participation in contacts with owners and operators of ships operating under the Polish flag;
  • Issuing of compliance documents.
