Air pollutants emission estimates in Poland are compiled on an annual basis and account for sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ammonia, carbon monoxide, particulate matter (BC, PM2.5, PM10 and total suspended particulates - TSP), non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOCs), heavy metals (HMs) and persistent organic pollutants (POPs) including dioxins and furans (PCDD/F), HCB, PCB and PAHs.
Poland fulfils its obligation for preparing annual air emission inventories under:
- UNECE Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (LRTAP), signed in November 1979 in Geneva,
- Directive 2016/2284 of the European Parliament and the Council on National Emissions Ceilings (NECD).
Reports:
The detailed results of the air pollutants emission inventory together with the methodology for their estimation are presented in the Informative Inventory Report (IIR) and the NFR tables (Annex I) available below.
- Poland 's Informative Inventory Report 2024 in English containing data on national air pollutants emission for the years 1990 to 2022 together with a description of the methodologies. The report was submitted to European Union (under NECD), European Environmental Agency (EEA – EIONET CDR) and Convention LRTAP on 13.03.2024.
- Tables with emission data in the format required by Directive 2016/2284 (Annex I). It contains detailed emission data for the years 1990-2022 in the NFR classification system. The data was submitted to European Union (NEC Directive), European Environmental Agency (EEA – EIONET CDR) and Convention LRTAP on 12.02.2024.
