Air pollutants

Print

Air pollutants emission estimates in Poland are compiled on an annual basis and account for sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ammonia, carbon monoxide, particulate matter (BC, PM2.5, PM10 and total suspended particulates - TSP), non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOCs), heavy metals (HMs) and persistent organic pollutants (POPs) including dioxins and furans (PCDD/F), HCB, PCB and PAHs.

Poland fulfils its obligation for preparing annual air emission inventories under:

  • UNECE Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (LRTAP), signed in November 1979 in Geneva,
  • Directive 2016/2284 of the European Parliament and the Council on National Emissions Ceilings (NECD).

Reports:

The detailed results of the air pollutants emission inventory together with the methodology for their estimation are presented in the Informative Inventory Report (IIR) and the NFR tables (Annex I) available below.
